Hello,

I would like to know what is the difference between acer 7741z motherboard mbpt401001 and mbpt501001. My present laptop has the mbpt401001 that went bad. I have anther one that it is a mbpt501001. Will this one work. The only difference I see is that the 501001 does not have a connector for the speaker.

For Aspire 7741Z, it exist only one motherboard:

MB.PT501.001

MAIN BD.UMA.E70CP.W/RTC.LF

For Aspire 7741G or 7741ZG:

MB.PT401.001

MAIN BD.DIS.HM55.DDR3800.LF

Mine is a 7741z-5731 and it has the mb.pt 401.001. Does the mb.pt501.001 have sound connection?

Hello,

Normally, there is a SPK1 connector on the MB.PT501.001 (JE70-CP).

I found some informations about the motherboards:

MB.PT501.001:

Chipset: Intel HM55 Express

Graphic chipset: ATI Madison (HD 5000M series)

Memory: DDR3 - 800/1066/1333MHz

MB.PT401.001:

Chipset: Intel HM55 Express

Graphic chipset: ATI HD 5650 

Memory: DDR3 - 800/1066/1333MHz

Do you have the same CPUs?

yes the same cpu's.

Have you bought the laptop new or used?

I checked again and the motherboard is MB.PT501.001 (only one).
