My aspire v5-571p came with windows 8.0 prinstalled.
I have not as yet upgraded to 8.1.
If I upgraded to 8.1 would this machine be miracast capable?
Thanks

I do not show this product is miracast capable. You can find a complete listing of miracast certified products from all manufacturers at http://www.wi-fi.org/discover-wi-fi/wi-fi-certifie

Hi Acer-Blayn
Thanks, but I found the website a little difficult to negotiate (just me I think), and I had a question about what it means.
Does not being wi-fi-certified-miracast imply not capable, or might some models be capable but not certified?
On other sites, I've seen advice that this model should be capable, if upgraded to 8.1, (and that miracast capable 8.1 drivers should be available for the wifi adapter.
Regards

It may be possible that the V5 can use miracast, even though it is not certified. We do not advertise the product as supporting miracast, and have not tested it with miracast, so unfortunately we are unable to guarantee compatibility or provide support for using the product with miracast.

I am having the same issue.. i have all the hardware and drivers required to be able to use miracast but my laptop does not give me the option to be able to search for a wireless divice.
Is acer going to fix this?
Julho
I dont understand how my Acer Aspire V5-571P was able to use miracast in windows 8.0 but now I cant get it to connect in windows 8.1. The strange thing is that the set up goes all the way up to the verification code entry. However, when it loads, the push2tv3000 disappears in windows 8.1 devices. BUT, the push2tv3000 still shows up as an added device in device and printers in the control panel. It is not until you delete the push2tv3000 device from the control panel that windows 8.1 will discover it again. Acer really should get on the ball with their program. Casting is not in the future it is now. I find it strange that when you do a search on your website for miracast not one result appears. Yet, when you google the topic with acer you find all kinds of complaints. So whats your resolution Acer? You going to get into the casting market and get up to date on what yoour products will and will not do? 8.1 is the OS you recommend. 8.1 supports miracast. It stands to reason that Acer should too.
Oh and your Atheros AR5BWB222 wifi card is the worst wifi card I have ever dealt with. Ever since upgrading to windows 8.1 noot one driver legacy or brand new will keep connected to the internet. I literally have to reboot my computer to get wifi again if the computer goes to sleep. Sure you say update the drivers. Have you tried the updated drivers or is that just a canned speech. The drivers, even when uninstalled and installed manually, do not work. Its everywhere on the internet why cant you fix it?
Not sure I would ever by an Acer again. After 1 year with this laptop it still loads everything so slow for 8 Gigs.
