A definitive answer to what question? There is not one in your post.

Hi Acer-Tommy, sorry old chap another senior moment on my part. I put the question in the title but not the body of my question. I wanted to know whether the acer has a numeric keypad.
Also I still cant decide whether to buy an Aspire or travelmate. The laptop will never move from my desk but I am rather heavy handed so want to get which ever of these two models is the studiest. Are you please able to comment. thanks

I see. Yes, the keyboard on the TravelMate P253-M does have a numeric keypad on the right side, rather than an embedded Fn key enabled one.
Aspire and TravelMate series both encompass a large stable of systems.
You may find suggestions on what would fit your needs in the forum, Find the Acer Best for You.
I might suggest looking at systems with a removable battery, if you're going to be looking at a 'desktop replacement' type system.

Hi Acer-Tommy,
Thank you very much for the info and link.I can`t really find the info I need so I wonder whether I can pick your brains yet again please.
As previously mentioned I will not need to carry my laptop so size and weight is not an issue.
I can`t decide between the Aspire E1-571 and the travelmate P253_M, both with i5 and 4 or 6GH.
I prepare a lot of invoices so need a full numeric keypad. I have previously only been used to the embeded numeric pad
at the top of the keyboard. Would you say there is any real difference in using the type fitted to the acers.
finally the Aspire reviews suggest the plasticy build quality is rather flimsy but the travelmate is sturdier. Would you agree.
I am house-bound so can`t visit stores to examine the two different models.
I do hope you dont mind me firing these questions at you but there is limited info on the net whereas you are clearly an expert. Many thanks jackttet

The numeric keypad is a standard numeric keypad, very much like a desktop keyboard numeric keypad.
There are some minor differences, in size and accomodations for residing on a notebook keyboard, but functionally they are the same.
I'm really unable to comment about reviews.
I can say that the TravelMate system are designed with an eye more toward our business customers, while the Aspire lines are generally more for the 'consumer' users. This does not, of course, mean that they are not usable and useful in either environment.

Hi Acer-tommy, Thanks very much.I have just found some "You Tube" reviews on both models. The Aspire appears to have
a glossy screen and reflects badly even in doors. The travelmate looks like it has a matte screen and had no reflection.
I think that is for me. Thanks very much for all your help.jackteet

Hi Acer-Tommy, profuse apologies for bothering you again but Amazon are not being very helpful.
I want the travelmate E1-P253 NX. V7VEK. 021. Amazon show this model as windows 7 Pro/ Windows 8 Pro.However In the specification windows 8 is given. I want 7 and hope that the model comes with both 7 and 8.
Are you please able to give me a difinitive answer please. Thanks jackteet

The model that you have listed does not exist. I think you've combined both the Aspire and TravelMate. ![]()
NX.V7VEK.021 is a TravelMate P253-M-53234G50Maks which is sold in the United Kingdom.
It includes Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8 Professional (both 64 bit).
You choose which you want to install after the initial set up. You only get one at a time, no dual-boot.
Hope that helps.

Hi Acer-Tommy,
Thanks that helps a lot. I am now ordering the travelmate and I also want to add another 4gb. Would you know if there is a free slot to accomodate this or is it fitted with 2x 2gb. Finally would you please be able to supply me with an Acer part number. Thanks jackteet.
