I start the Acer eRecovery Management. The system asks me if I want to allow it to run. I press yes. Then nothing happens. The program does not start!

    hi..

It would be more helpful if you elobrate the issue.

    1) model number of your computer

    2) operating system installed

    3) why you are trying to restore your computer?

Sorry Sharanji, here are the details:

    1. Aspire E1-522

    2. Windows 8

    3. I want to install Ubuntu Linux and want to be able to restore Windows if it is damaged during installation. Therefore I want to make a USB backup.

    Hi....

Are you using a DVD or USB flash drive to create recovery media?
You will need a 16 GB or larger USB drive. You can use this drive to reinstall Windows or diagnose problems if Windows fails to start.

Use the following steps to create your backup drive:

These steps will remove all content from your USB flash drive.
You will need to disable power management settings before creating your backup drive.
    1. Press the Windows (Image: icon_Windows8_key.png) key + Q.
    2. Type Recovery, and click Acer Recovery Management.
    3. Click Create Factory Default Backup.
    4. Select Copy content from the recovery partition to the recovery drive, and click Next.
    5. Select your USB Flash Drive, and click Next.
    6. Click Create. When asked to delete the recovery partition from your computer, click No.

Thanks for the detailed answer, I disabled power management as you said, seems like a wise move, but still there is that problem between step 2 and 3 in your tutorial, namely that the program eRecovery does not run. The computer thinks for a few seconds, but in the end, as I already said, nothing happens.
