I have an acer aspire one

When i first got it i had windows xp on it.  I could go into a screen resolution of 1024x728. It would not distort, it would scroll up and down.  Now that i have put windows 7 on it i cannot go beyond 1024x600.  There are methods for messing with the registry to force the computer to display 1024x728, but its not a scrolling option it distorts the image in order to shove it all on the screen. 

How can i get my old setting back?

Have you installed the graphic drivers?
