this has only started occurring today. the battery is below 10% and i can't seem to get it to charge. when i plug charger in and it does decide to light up it flashes but doesn't charge. but now it won't turn on and the power button flashes for a few seconds. i know my power supply works as it is no longer the original charger which gave out after about 4 months, and the charger i do have is universal and is currently charging my mothers laptop. my laptop is 1 year and 8 months old. both me and my partner have important documents on my laptop and i'm in the middle of job hunting. any idea what i can do? please help

It could be a problem with the DC jack on the computer. I would test with an Acer adapter, and if it doesn't work, then get it fixed.

luckily i have sorted it, it was tbe charging head on my universal charger changed the head amd its fine. now i have a whole new problem
