My laptop is no longer on warrenty, and of course is acting up. I was never able to make a copy of my program to restore the laptop to factory settings (sorry, I'm not good with computer lingo), and now, I'm having issues wth restarting my laptop. It just took me over 2 hours, and I have no idea why. I want to set it back to it's factory settings and see if that will help...
Any ideas why it's taking forever to restart it?

Have you try to press ALT+F10 at boot?
normally this will start erecovery and re-install the OS as factory.

Just to add, here are the steps Ironfly is asking about: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2

Thanks. Any ideas about restart time, though?? 2 hours is ridiculous. It's been like that for a while, but no warranty and can't afford to have someone fix it :/

it can be multiple things, not so easy to narrow it without having the notebook in hand.
