Touch screen on Aspire V 561P-6869

Completely stopped working almost exactly 24 hours after I purchased it yesterday. You'd almost think it never had a touch screen to begin with. I researched the forums here, the thing in human interface devices in device manager that people mention looking for is not there. there is a "vendor-defined device" and two things mentioning wireless. that's it. Doing a refresh did not work, doing a factory reset did not work. It happened after I started playing a game from the windows app store. (the free racing one on the front page, go look I'm sure it's still there). After one race it sortof froze up in one of the inbetween screens so I swiped down to clear it off the screen, then went to the app's icon to uninstall it. I clicked uninstall and after a few seconds an error popped up (I can't remember what it said but it had something to do with the game) saying that after collecting some data to send, the computer would need to reboot. This it did, but upon restarting the touch screen was no more. Under system it says  "No pen or touch input is available for this display."

I don't understand how things could have gone so irreparably sideways so fast. How is it possible that the reset doesn't fix it?

Re: Touch screen on Aspire V 561P-6869

WELP I fixed it. After 3 go-rounds with customer service and the above mentioned resets. I thought, there has to be something left on here that knows it's a touch screen. I went to control panel, then Tablet PC settings, and then "configure your pen and touch displays" It had me touch the screen and for the first time the little circle appeared beneath my finger. Everything seems to be back. Under system it now says "Full Windows touch support with 10 touch points" USB input device is now listed under human interface devices. So, I'm still kindof like, "what the heck?" But ultimately glad I posted this Q&A in the hopes it will help some other poor soul sometime down the road.
