AO 722
no camera found
I find THOUSANDS of net posts about the acer crystal webcam fanishing. And thousands of never fixed messages.
I find no driver in the restore app. I find no driver on the acer download page.
I find dozens of messages here about the same thing.
And the response from support is WINDOWS is supposed to install the driver, AND:::: the hardware is probably not working.
HOW IS IT THIS IS STILL A PROBLEM WITH NEW COMPUTERS??????????????????????????????????
Windows is NOT installing the drivers so PLEASE POST A FIX.

Drivers are available on the Acer download site:
http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/drivers
Select 'Netbook, Chromebook' > Aspire One > AO722
Select Windows 7 OS
Click 'Application'
Download the Cyberlink WebCam Application.

Thank you for your response.
The webcam software does not contain a driver.
Webcam not found.

The Cyberlink application should pickup the Win7 system supplied drivers. These are:
Windows\system32\drivers\usbvideo.sys
Windows\system32\drivers\ksthunk.sys
Check that they are on your system.
Do you have any problems in Device Manager?
Is there a WebCam entry under 'Imaging devices'?

I have been providing computer support for 22 years for small organizations.
This issue is at the top of annoyances.
No listing in the device manager for the camera. Just gone.
In the spring when I last used at the camera software all was fine.
Now: webcam not found.
How is it possible this issue has been repeatedly happening for more than FIVE years for acer computers?
The camera just leaves the building. For no apparent reason. For thousand of users?
crystal eye webcam driver :: 280 thousand google hits!
acer crystal eye webcam not found :: 62 thousand google hits!
And the response from support is: the camera is damaged, or not connected, or windows is not finding it. Linux users are also having the same problem.
This netbook has rarely been out of the house. Never dropped.
Should I open the screen to assure the cable is tight? Seems like this is a possible issue. But why for so many?
Julho
