I bought a Aspire V5-571P for my wife to use for her Transcription business. It's a great computer except for 1 problem. She has to hit the space bar key hard to get it to work. When shes typing, it is a problem having to slow down or backspace to make sure there is a space. At times she has had to hit it multiple time for it to work. I have read where there was a problem with the keyboard on older models. Doe anyone else have this problem? Or know a fix for it?

I'm thinking of buying this computer but I've heard numerous problems with the spacebar. Can you let me know when there is a design change that fixes the problem?

I have SPACEBAR NOT WORKING correctly when pressed also. I bought a refurb. R7-571-6858. Typing on it now ... pressing hard near the center of the SPACE BAR to make sure there's a space! Pressing within 1" of the edge of either side of the ~4" long SPACEBAR leaves you with No Space on your screen. You absolutely KNOW ACER knows ALL about this design and/or manufacturing defect or Quality issue that was allowed to proliferate. If Idon't press hard then your text will look like this: Himy name is Robert andIhave boughtarefurbishedR7laptop andwhenpresingonthe spacebarwith normalpressureyour Resume'vforthat newjobwilllooklikethis! Goodluckgetting that job! Hope Acer wil take responsibility and fix your Laptop!

I think you're missing the point. The spacebar is garbage on every single Acer R series laptop. Are you suggesting that every Acer owner send their laptop in for repair? It is a design flaw, plain and simple.
