I have seen other discussions were it was a registry problem but I have not seen a fix that works.

You need to provide more info about your laptop, however, re-installing Acer Launch Manager resolves the keyboard problems in most Acer laptops.

Yes an external USB keyboard works. It must be a bum keyboard.

@jimmychink: The external keyboard don't solve your issue. If you want the part, I need the part number of your laptop.

                     You'll find it with the serial number (don't communicate it). Indicate me only the first ten letter/number.

I have a replacement keyboard. The  only problem I have is how to remove the old one. I have the case apart but don't know how to pull out the old one.
