Hello,

I have a frustrating problem. I bought the recovery disks from acer to reinstal Win8 after installing Ubuntu. When I am in legacy BIOS it prompts me to switch to UEFI at the install screen. When I do switch it, it then says it needs to be in BIOS. Any advice would be appracited.

Thanks,

James

That would presume that you're leaving a partition to be formatted.

Just remove all the partitions and use the recovery media.

Remove all of the partitions on the drive and then use the bootable media.

Any advice on which format to leave the hard drive in after I wipe all of the partitions i.e. ntfs of fat32?

Got the same thing; thanks. It works now.

BTW, I received two language CD's (being in Canada). Read carefully. They're not the same. One was French and the other English, which isn't apparent unless you read the part number carefully. One is "FMXFRXP.104" and the other is "FMXENXP.104". Recovery takes a very long time, and making this mistake was painful.

Will ghost the machine when it's done.
