R7 computers have more memory than you can shake a stick at !
I would wonder if this is some kind of malware or virus. I would download Malware Bytes and scan for any problems.
If no problem was found I would copy all my documents and files I want to keep to flash stick and then run the Acer Recovery software to eliminate it being a software fault. If after all the above (and all windows updates) and the problem still occurs I would presume it to be a hardware problem and contact Acer directly.

There is some useful info here, that may help.
Also, check that all your RAM is being recognised - press Windows key & Pause/Break to check. Also as already advised, perform Anti malware/virus scans.
