Hi,

I'm having network adapter difficulties and found out that it's actually a hardware problem as even booting other operating systems could not detect the network card anymore. I'd like to purchase another card other than a new Atheros AR5bwb225 that my Acer Aspire S3 now uses. I've read different links and it appears that people have tried intel cards but not all models are recognized by acer, even if it has the same physical configuration. Has anyone here tried alternative network cards (mine is mini pci) with success, and can share what they use and which drivers please?

The AR5bwb225 is definately a junk wireless card.I had a dead one in a V5-551 I bought and put in a new one. I quickly replaced it with a Intel Wireless-N 7260.I got it to work with the Win 7 v.10.0.0.0.285 driver.

The wifi is much faster than the Atheros, but the  Bluetooth won't work period.Sometimes, when the laptop wakes from sleep you have to reset the wireless adapter.
