Recently, broke my laptop's HDD. Had windows 7 installed on it ever since i got it, had it for 2 years or so.
Just bought a new SSHD from Memory Express and now I need to install windows 7 on it. Problem is, my product key is ripped so I don't have the full key and the key is probably still regustered with the HDD.
I can provide a picture if necessary.
Can I get a replacement for it or do I need to buy a new key?

Hi ddnaar
If you're loading the original recovery disks on to your new hard drive, then you do not need the product key, as Acer OEM's are already activated. However, if the Windows 7 wasn't the original OS, or you installed from a retail disk, then you need to use the product key that came with the disk.
Hope this helps!

OK, if there are no recovery disks, you can usually buy them from Acer, and are inexpensive! Contact support for your region to buy them.
Alternatively, buy a retail copy of Windows 7 (which will come with a new product key), and download the drivers & apps, from the Acer support website.
