I am having the same problem. I bought an Acer Aspire notebook from Walmart and bought the extra warranty. Two months later it crashed- would not turn on at all; never dropped and only used about 20 times. I mailed it to TX and they returned it but now it asks to activate product key which already displays in the system and says it is BLOCKED. I called them an they tell me they can't help me because I am now out of warranty. All they do is prompt me to buy a new product key.
HELP!

The repair shop had to do it for me, but if you want to try it, you could re-set back to factory settings & re-install Win8.
