The display on my 5742 laptop is faulty - it is displaying pink vertical lines on the left side of the screen, and also does not often work unless the power supply is connected. I need to know the part number to get a quote for a replacement - could anyone tell me what part number I require? The SNID of the machine is [edited for privacy]

Before replacing the display, you should also make sure your video ribbon cable does not have a broken conductor (usually near hinge area) and all its connectors have been re-seated. These cables are also inexpensive
