Does anyone know where I can purchase a disc with the operating system on it or is it possible to make a copy the operating system on my Acer Aspire and load it on to his? He was trying to remove a virus that may or may not have been there and he did so without asking for help.

You cannot just copy yours because it is registered to your hardware. Make sure you get the recovery media for his computer and not yours.
