All Office programs that I use on this little netbook are now coming up unlicensed and not in operation. Solution is supposed to be un-install and re-install. No cd drive. Where do I get this back? Microsoft says its Acer's problem because even the starter programs are supposed to last the life of the computer. Does Acer offer a fix or am I stuck with a "chromebook" after a year and half use?

Hi c-reinhart
Uninstall Office Starter completely, then download it here. This should now install & run correctly.
Hope this helps!

Only option for download seems to be cd. Download not an option for replacement. This netbook did NOT come with cd drive. And, it costs $19.95! Microsoft said the starter is supposed to last the life of the laptop its installed on not become unusable after a period of time. What gives?

I'm not sure what you've been looking at, but if you click the link I posted above, click on any of the download locations (centre-right of screen), I suggest "Download at Majorgeeks". Then click Run or Save.
No optical drive required, and no charge at all!
I agree that the Starter Edition should last the life of the laptop - but yours may have become corrupt....
