Okay, Hi everyone, I have had my new (bought used) M5-581T-6807 and can't install latest updates from Microsoft. I have about 1 gig free memory, & have used D: path, also partitioning to run one large program in an M: drive (mapped). I have turned off hibernation, indexing, and I believe I have no other ways to free more memory easily. I am not sure I can upgrade the SSD 20 Gig to a 110 dollar 240 Gig SSD. That would be nice, but money is tight at this point in time. The computer came with Windows 8, but I bought it with Windows 7 Ultimate on it, needed at least Win 7 Professional.
My HDD drive is fine at 450 Gigs, I have hardly started to fill it.
Any help with this would be appreciated! I have a good imaging program to back up my SDD drive & HDD drive. I don't have any recovery disks or operating system, so imaging is a must for me.
I just want to be able to use this machine, I like it's fast speed, but getting most things loaded onto the D: drive is taking more of my programming time (my skills are in software) and making me a hardware person (my skills are average at least).
Thank you.
Warm regards,
Bob

Thanks Jack,
I will look into this. That isn'too bad. I think as long as I can keep moving most programs that load into C: to D: & other tricks this might work.

I ordered the 120 Gig one. The best deal was the 240 Gig. I went a bit overbudget, but think the 120 Gig was the best for me, as some installs just insist on C: drive. Thanks again, Jack.

Looks like the 120 Gig SSD drive I got isn't going to work. I can't figure out where the 20 Gig SSD is. THe 120 Gig is the same size as the HDD 500 Gig Drive. I called Kingston & they do make the mSata, but it costs 30 dollars more. Amazon is refunding my money on my 2.5 inch SATA, thank God. So I am either going to get the BP4 MyDigitalSSD 128GB a Sata III http://www.amazon.com/MyDigitalSSD-128GB-120GB-Bul
Or I can get Crucial M500 120GB http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-120GB-mSATA-Internal
Any suggestions.

Sorry for the hassle Bob. mSATAs are a whole nuther animal than regular SSDs. Crucial claims their mSATA will fit your machine as shown here

I don't think you can go wrong with Crucial thru Amazon.

Thanks Jack, I think I will order from Crucial. I won't get till next week, but if better than the MyDigitalSSD which I could get by Friday, I would rather wait!
