I have been looking for a solution for this issue for alomst 3 months now. My Aspire 7520 when tuned on just gives me a black screen. I have taken the battery out and held down power button and still same thing. I also made sure the fan was free of dust and it is runnig and I can hear it trying to load and now when I turn it off it comes back on by itself so I have to remove the battery all together.

Have you attempted to connect an external monitor to the system to see if it displays there?

I have the same problem on my acer 7741g and I connected it to external monitor, it doesn't display anything, does that mean that it's a screen problem?

If you are not getting an image on an external monitor either, it could very well be a video card issue or an issue with the mainboard. You would need to contact your local Acer service center for assistance.

Yeah my external modem didn't work either. And not sure if replacing motherboard is more cost effective than buying a brandnew Notebook.
