Thank you for your post, much appreciated. After talking to Intel the logical next step is to find out
if the CPU in my V5-561 is soldered or clamped. As I imagine you are well aware that the 4th gen
i-7's use the same socket and chipset, but is the i-5 version of the BIOS compatible with the i-7's?
And also, might I inqire as to AMD software compatibility and if it is functional with Acer's
firmware (or Intel's instruction sets) as the color control via the 4200U CPU is nothing less than
tragic.
Also, it was a bit frustrating to be told in a chat session that the empty bay for a DVD optical drive
was bare and had no connection capabilities...as I had just looked at the 7-15 pin SATA sockets
minutes before. That there was no Acer branded optical drive for V5-561's and no installaion kits either
(both of which I ordered from your designated US parts supplier shortly thereafter). You have
rekindled my faith in Acer technical support.
Again, thank you for your help.

Habu,
The CPU is soldered to the motherboard on this system. In regards to AMD software compatibility, unfortunately, I don't have any information on that or the color control via the 4200U. I apologize for any inconvenience.
