No, the laptop just doesn't work as designed. It is only functional because of band aids and tethered to the wall. Not good. You are on to something with 'own earnings'. Not enough time for a job with engineering curriculum....I would rather him study.

@smurk I know this is old thread.
Beware that if you order ftom Germany you will almost always get a qwertz keyboard instead of querty. From Belgium/ France IT will be azerty. Netherlands will be querty, but for some brands the layout can be a little different ( standing instead of lying enter) and Lenovo even sells really Dutch layout with special characters on different places), same as for NL counts for the UK.

To be short, when ordering from Europe, make sure you get the desired keyboard layout...
