Do I have to change the bios when upgrading my Acer Aspire One 532h ram from 1gb to 2gb?

It is not necessary to change the BIOS.

Just upgraded to 2 Gb. Crucial recommended their part # CT1211511 but were out of stock so I bought #CT25664AC800 instead which was readily available at Future Shop and Best Buy for $39. I had read online that this card was being used by some people.
Upgraded the BIOS to the latest version V 1.26, which is recommended by Crucial and easily done, swapped the 2Gb card for the 1 Gb, screwed it all together, plunked in the battery, and it worked just fine right away.

I did that a couple of years ago when I bought a 532h, was just plug and play. Am running Windows 7 and Windows 7-64 as dual boot in two partitions, the N-450 is x64 capable.
