I cannot charge my battery.  Is it a matter of a dead battery, or is there a problem with charging?  The laptop is a few years old and I have not yet replaced the battery.

If the computer won't work with the power supply plugged in, the PS is probably dead, which would run down the battery.

Take the power supply to a shop and have it checked or use a multimeter and check output dc voltage.

Ok.  So, that's the charger.  Correct?  Maybe the battery is fine and the charger is dead.  Is that what you're saying?
