Acer One A0725 Win 8.
System bios v2.4.
Changed bios from UEFI to legacy - in order to boot from Linux live CD.
Computer boots Linux live but will NOT boot from hard drive (Win 8).
Shows "No bootable device".
Changed bios back to UEFI.
On restart computer goes into Win8 automatic repair mode and eventually tries to restore.
Then locks up with Acer start screen (whether or not I choose to restore).
I have set boot priority with hard disk as option 1.
Anything I can do about this without dowin a Win8 reinstallation?

The steps you have taken seem to be correct and there should be no reason you shouldn't be able to boot into Windows 8, if you changed it back to UEFI from legacy. I would make sure that the USB external optical drive is disconnected and go back into the BIOS and load the BIOS defaults by pressing F9, then save and exit.
If you are still experiencing Windows 8 locking up at the Acer screen, then your only other option may be reloading your Acer computer.
