How much can I upgrade my laptop?

Hi guys!
I got an over a year almost two years old Acer Aspire 5733 and I was wondering if I could upgrade it. I use it quite a lot and sometimes it works really slow and when I plan on rendering something it just shuts down a few minutes after I started the render. I was just wondering what might be causing this to happen. It's got a 320 GB HDD, 4GB of ram and an Intel Core i3.
My question is can I upgrade the hard drive to something around a terabyte or less and the ram to 8GB? Also can I upgrade the Intel card to a higher one like an i7?
If those things are possible does that mean that once everything is upgraded the fans will work faster and it could heat up even more in the process? Can I possibly change the fan too?
Most of the questions I asked are kind of dumb but I can't help but wonder.

    Hello PavelAndro,

For the Aspire 5733, it exist only one motherboard:

    MB.RJW02.001MAIN BD.UMA.HM55.WO/HDMI.LF

About the origin memory, the speed is DDR3 1333 or 1600 MHz. The maximum is 4 Gb (OS 32 bits) and 8 Gb (OS 64 bits).

You'll be able to find the memory with these tools:

    1- Crucial Advisor

    2- Corsair Memory Finder

    The CPUs mounted in origin:

    KC.37K01.DMPCPU.I3.370M.2.4G/3M
    KC.38K01.DMPCPU.I3.380M.2.53G/3M/35W
    KC.48K01.DMPCPU.I5.480M.2.66G/3M/35W
    KC.56K01.DMPCPU.I5.560M.2.66G/3M/35W.PGA

The module thermal and the fan are the same for all models.

The capacity of HDD mounted in origin: From 320 Gb to 750 Gb.
