Aspire ES1-512

I got this laptop model and need help please on the touchpad. I've been finding it extremely frustrating and am very used to the standard touchpad. The problems are these

1. 2 finger vertical and horizontal scrolling. I hate this and prefer where you vertically scroll using the RHS vertical part of the touchpad and you horizontally scroll using the bottom horizontal part of the touchpad, like this:

2. 2 finger pinch and zoom. This seriously needs to be disabled. Rarely use this and when I do, there's no need whatsoever to do it through touchpad way, easily done through the app window way. Just annoying and unecessary. Smiley Sad

Maybe some Synaptics driver needs to be installed? If so, please give me its download link. Hate this new kind of touchpad with all its gestures, peferred the standard one far more and want to go back to this one SERIOUSLY ASAP since I cannot tolerate this current new touchpad pre installed as it's seriously murdering me. Smiley SadSmiley SadSmiley Sad Touchpad gestures all need to be disabled, how?

Moving on, by keyboard I want to know how to adjust screen brightness please. Holding Fn and the up buttons increase volume while holding Fn and down buttons decrease volume. Nice. Similarly, by how the left and right arrows appear on keybard with their blue icons, Sun and no Sun respectively, holding Fn and left buttons SHOULD raise screen brightness while holding buttons Fn and right SHOULD decrease screen brightness, but this doesn't occur. WHY? How do I fix this?

Thank you very much,

Krishna

    Krishna999,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the touchpad on this notebook. This notebook appears to have a precision touchpad and there is a limitation as to what can be adjusted as far as settings go (as you have most likely noticed). If you click on the link that will take you to the Microsoft website that talks more about the touchpad.
