I have an Acer Netbook, which I decided to upgrade to Windows 8. However, the graphics went bad after the upgrade. I did download the Windows generic drivers as suggested by a user named GuruAid in one of the Windows forums. Still, the graphics remain fazed. Is it possible to get rid of graphics error?

It seems that you have installed Windows generic drivers. As the issue is related to graphics, you will have to install graphic card specific drivers. So for example if there is a NVIDIA graphic card installed on your system, you may have to install driver specific to NVIDIA.
Follow the below mentioned link to install the driver specific to make and model of your laptop:

Intel supplies generic versions of its graphics drivers for general purposes. But, the computer manufacturer can change the features, incorporate customizations, or make other changes to the graphics driver software or software packaging. To avoid any potential installation incompatibilities, it is recommended that you first check with your computer manufacturer and use the driver software they provide.
Therefore in your case, you should install a specific graphic card driver as Windows generic graphic card won't work.
