I am using an Acer Model AO722 netbook with 2.0 GB RAM 9 (1.73 GB usable) and Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) OS. The system is current with all Windows updates.
Over the last 3-4 weeks the system performance has degraded dramatically. Here are the symptoms:
I have taken the following corrective steps:
None of these actions have helped. I need guidance to figure out the root cause and remedy. Is there a known problem with this Acer model and a fix?

At this point, it may be best to try restoring the system to factory defaults. It is possible there is corruption in the OS or on the HDD that is preventing the system from operating normally.
If reloading the system does not help, then the problem would be with the hardware, and the system would need to be serviced.
