hi,

hope someone can help, I have an Acer Aspire 5742 and have been having a few problems with it.

I have done a full restore on the system but everytime i get to installing office 2010 it just freezes and won't go any futher.

Have tried the ALT+Home to see if anything is running in the backgroun but there isn't.

Any help would be appriciated.

The acer tech got back to me this morning. Unfortunately, the recommended solution for this common problem  is still the one posted by Jspinner here which involves deleting partitions.

That's fine mate, thanks for looking into it. Hopefully they will find a fix for it

Are you gonna wait for an easier Acer fix or try deleting the partitions. If you go the latter route, could you please keep us posted on your progress and approach? Thanks
