I did not register my computer when I purchased it and now need to know the date we first used the computer.  I went to the store to get a copy of the receipt and was able to get the receipt but it does not contain the serial number on the receipt.  I need to show that the receipt date is the same as the date we first used the computer.   Any suggestions?   We purchased the computer in 2009 so the warranty is expired.   It is an Aspire One netbook.

If you are just needing the notebooks serial number, that can be found either in the BIOS or on the bottom of the notebook. Unfortunetly, we are not able to see or tell when the notebook was first used/purchased outside from what your receipt shows from the retailer.

May I ask to what purpose you are needing this information? I would think the receipt would be sufficient for any claims you are trying to file. If you are requiring repair, you only need the SN and your local Acer service facility should be able to assist you.
