Any news?

Yes, but apparently my earlier reply didn't post for some reason.
First, since you couldn't recall the procedure you used to try to install WinXP from the Microsoft virutual machine download, I need to know the name of the download file you tried to use including its extension. While it appears this file set up the correct VMWare virtual WinXP machine framework, it did NOT load the WinXP operating system on to the VMWare virtual hard drives (the .vdmk files) since they aren't big enough. So please tell me the name of the MS download file that you tried to use.
Next, do you have a DVD/CD drive? Do you have WinXP OEM installation disks?

Good morning, whereever you are.
No, I do not have any CDs
I think I answered the question referring which file I used. I think it was
WindowsXPMode_N_en-us.exe
and
Windows6.1-KB958559-x64-RefreshPkg.msu OR
Windows6.1-KB958559-x86-RefreshPkg.msu

Good evening. 8^)
Do you have a DVD/CD drive?
Next, please move (don't delete) all the files with the .vmdk extension from the virtual machine WinXP folder to some other folder that we can refer to later if needed.
Next is a question. If you run the WindowsXPMode_N_en-us.exe by itself without starting VMWare Player, does it create a file with a VHD extension and does it ask you if you want to make a dynamic disk?

Michael---
I need you to do another thing right now.
Go to explorer and search your hard drive for all files with the VHD extension including the one you may have just created by running WindowsXPMode_N_en-us.exe.
Then please list them for me with their size etc. A screenshot would be best in JPG format.
Thanks

Oh, I did not know where you are.
Yes I cut the files and put them on a separate folder
Yes, I have a DVD/CD drive on my computer
Last question i DID NOT understand If I click on the exe file it want to start installing Windows XP mode. Is that what you mean? Should I go ahead with the installing and where would be the VHD ext file be located?

>>>where would be the VHD ext file be located>>>
This is what I need you to tell me. Open Explorer. Then search for *.vhd
Please tell me if you find any files that end in .vhd
For example, the file may have a name like Windows XP Professional.vhd
Thanks

Michael:
You may be in luck since it seems like you still have the old virtual XP hard disk file on your machine. But I can't see the size of the Windows XP Mode.VHD file to confirm. What is the size of this file?
