Does anyone know the exact specs of the Core i5 processor that can be used in the 5742. I found a website once that showed all Acer products and their CPU options, but like an idiot I didn't think to bookmark it. Please help. Thanks.

I have been researching this, and I have found that the i7 640M uses the same socket, draws 35W, just like the i3/5 CPU's used in the 5742, and seems to offer much better speeds. I would like to know if the motherboard will support the i7.

It comes with i5-460m but I found upgrading CPU was pointless IMHO, few MHz increase won't give you any significant increase in performance, unless you need it for particular purpose, just ignore it and upgrade your HDD to a SSD.
