Hi all,

Are there any disadvantages to unistalling the Acer portal and associated programmes on a new laptop? Will not use the software so see little benefit keeping it?

No, 99% is useless stuff. You need virtually nothing. The only application to keep is Acer Recovery Management.

Good to know; The Acer Portal is hacking me off telling me each and every time to update and install blah blah :-|

Hi Tom: I think Acer Portal is amazing. By Acer Portal, I can use a lot of Acer Cloud services. For Example,if i take pics on my smart phone, it will deliver to my PC via PicStream. I usually transport files between mobile device and PC via Acer Remote Files and the app very useful and convenient. If these feature you think are useful, just have a try.
