My notebook has a SSD drive. The memory failed and was replaced under warrenty and now it failed again. The notebook boots up but does not go to Widows, cannot sign in all I see is the mouse arrow on a black screen. What can be done and by whom?

Hi Sam
When you say the memory failed, do you mean the SSD or the RAM?
Either way, if you're still under warranty, contact Acer support for your region. If not, then it may be something you could do yourself, but If you're uncertain, visit your local PC store. They should be able to help!

It is out of waranty. it was repaired by Acer before after having similar symptomps. It seems to be the SSD drive. I tried to restore to factory settings and it stopped due to errors. I question the reliability of the SSD drive.

You may have a point - it certainly sounds as if it could be the SSD.
I think the only option then, is to buy a new SSD and reinstall Windows.

Thank you, I do not have a system backup and will have to get it from Acer. Any idea how to go about it?

Sure, although it varies from country to country!
Go to your Acer online store for your region (Google Acer online store, if you're not sure), and there should be an option there. If it is not listed, then go to Acer support for your region, then click on "Get Support". You will have the option to ring, email or to Live Chat (certain regions only) with Acer, and a Customer Service person will advice if recovery media is available for your model.
Make sure you have your full details of your S3 - serial number etc, as support will need these to identify your exact model.

Thank you very much, I will try that.
