I'm afraid not I'm still in the same position. As the laptop is under warranty, it will be going back, and we'll see how long it takes to get fixed. I can't say I will be holding my breath.

Sorry for the delayed response, unfortunately, I don't have an update, we have not been able to duplicate the issue here. I'm at a loss as to why this would happen, or what would cause it to happen multiple times as you've stated. Repair at this point would be the best option.

It would seem so, I've arraanged for it to be picked up and sent back for repair. I just hope that when I receive it back that the same doesn't happen again. I mean what use is the system when you can' acccess the BIOS and make changes?
Cheers

Could you private message me the Case Information for your repair? I'll ask our engineering team in Europe to watch this repair and see if they find anything.
The system isn't designed to cause an issue with entering or changing the BIOS. There's something we haven't identified yet.

Same thing happened.
I bought R7-572. It was brand new, packaging is not damaged. I opened bios just to check the hardware configuration, not making any changes, exited without saving - got black screen, it does not boot up.
I returned it to seller, and received the replacement. Same thing.
I returned it to seller again and don't know what is better now. To get third one from the same seller? What if they have the whole batch defective? Get money back and buy the same model from another seller? What if all of them have this defect? May be stop trying it and buy another notebook? But I choosed the model thoroughly and like it...but not all these buying-crashing-replacing...

The funny thing happened when I called Acer support about this issue. They listened to the problem, then asked me to wait for few minutes, and then said like that: "We have no such problem in our registered list of existing problems. That means, that there is no such problem."

It would seem to me the simplest solution would be to stop exiting the bios without saving.

Hi all,
I discovered the BIOS issue sometime ago (was the first as far as I know), and after trips to the retail store and Acer service centre (Singapore) and 3 machines later, I received the BIOS firmware file via one of the Acer engineers. The machine has been working great since the update.
Not sure how else I could help, but I'll provide as much information as possible.

Without having a system to test your theory out on I can't say twhether that would work or not, how ever my gut reation is that it wouldn't. it's not whether you save or not, it is just exiting the BIOS. That said, your theory is not a solution it is just a work around, and would still leave the system faulty. The solution is for Acer to fix the problem.
