I tried to upgrade to 8.1 this would not upgrade and I had to recover back to 8, since then I cannot create a recovery point it tells me the shadow copy point has a problem, now I cannot upgrade to 8.1 it stops half way through and resets back to 8 and Acer tell me I need 8.1 when I go to use the online app.

Any ideas please ?

Hi thanks for the reply.

It took me awhile but I have tried all the tips to get this sorted with no luck, it looks as if I will have to send it back to Acer ( I am not looking forward to that) as I will most likely loose all my stuff, but what can I do.

You can take out the HDD and connect it to another computer via USB and access and save your stuff.
