Got a Aspire E1571 Windows 8.1 installed, Did Windows updates - reboot and said configuring windows updates 30% and it rebooted. Now it boots saying repairing which fails every time. Cannot get into safemode or do a system restore. I can do I factory reset but this is now the 2nd time it happened in a week. Is it Windows 8.1 not working correctly? should I downground?

It is hard to say if it is a problem with the OS, or a possible problem with the hard drive. I would reload Windows 8.1, and run all Windows updates. If the problem happens again, it very well could be the HDD.

Thank you for the reply
I found the cause of the BSOD
I checked the memory dump file and pointed me to acscmsvr.sys which is being used by CryptoMate PCSC
We use a USB dongle to connect to FNB and I did take it up with FNB.
Waiting on feedback from them.
