Aspire D255E screen no blacklight and Bios Update

When I first got my Aspire D255E, the screen would go black for a little while and come back when I re-opened the netbook. Now it has been black for a month. Looking more carefully, I found that the screen had images, but the backlight was not working. I found a post http://community.acer.com/t5/2013-Archives/aspire-one-d255e-black-screen/td-p/75225, and I checked the cable to the main board. My BIOS is not the latest, and I want to update it to see if it fixes the problem. Just like what mentioned in the other post, there is no instruction how to update the BIOS. Can someone help me? Thanks.

    Hi,

Did you try out with external Monitor?

I just found the link to BIOS file. FLASH my BIOS to the latest, and the screen is still not working. I guess it's a hardware problem. Smiley Sad

    Hi,

I'm sorry , it seems to be LCD backlight issue or loos connection . Most probably LCD has to be replaced. Best thing is contact Autherized Acer service provider in your area.

    Thanks & Good luck
