I was trying to replace keyboard with missing keys, and managed to break the ribbon cable latch that is fixed t the mother board. Is there a fix for it?
the motherboard barcode is mbpt501oo1038
Intel Pentium processor.Must I replace the M/B? There are a few used on eBay and Amazon. What else do I need to know what is compatable?
Thanks

Electrician's or Scotch tape will hold the ribbon in place.

I've tried that. I think I'm going to find an Intel motherboard and replace it. I just hope that I get the right board. I've got the barcode number from the broken one, and I'd really like to get the board before I take it apart.
Anybody have any info on how many motherboards that were used in this machne?

Only one MB. You might also try to use a strip of stiff paper or thin plastic to positively wedge the backside side of the ribbon to the conductors inside the female connector. That's about how original latch works anyway.
