Hi everybody. Just joined you, hoping to get your assistance in healing my laptop.
It's Aspire 7739, OS Windows 7 x64. Suddenly started to show several problems. I've done factory restore. It worked fine after that for a day, then started the same problem. I thought that I might have infected it by CD with my backup files, and restored it again, ran the updates - no use. Works for a day, then the problem begins again.
1. Programs operate extremely slow, "(Not Responding)" shows for a long time. Then it loads, then slows down again
2. It takes forever to shut down, then to start Windows
3. There was a compatibility of Acer Update with this version of Windows message, but it looks like it was fixed by Hotfix from Acer Aspire website, where I was redirected by the system.
4. Processor begins to work very hard, laptop becomes very hot.
Before I first restored the system to factory defaults, this problem was escalating to the stage of black screen with moving cursor in both Normal and Save modes. Before that Safe mode took forever to load, stalling at CLASSPNP.sys for a long time. Then finally went to black screen with no possibility to start Windows at all, except for F10, system restore.
Please help me to identify and fix this problem. I love this computer and wouldn't want to give it up.

I've seen before that an issue with CLASSPNP.SYS is directly related to a piece of hardware on the system.
Have you attached any additional hardware or added any hardware to the system?
If you restore the system and do not perform any updates, does this situation recur?
I realize that it may take several days to walk through these steps to troubleshoot.
