Hi,

I'm having an issue with my Aspire 5741-A dvd drive.  (4 years old; Windows 7)

It will only play the first hour of a dvd- I've tried numerous dvds on various players and all stop at exactly 60 minutes.

I can't even skip passed that point, or select any chapter that goes over the 60 minute mark- it's like it's unable to read the dvds after an hour!

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the dvd drive, but no use. Perhaps it's a mechanical issue??

Any help or suggestions appreciated!

What player are you using to play the dvds?

Try downloading VLC player and see if it will work.

VLC is my primary player; same thing happens on all of them which makes me think that there might be a mehanical issue in reading the discs.
