Hello Acer Community!
I was hoping to recieve some assistance with this Aspire 5532 running Windows 7. When you turn the machine on it only has a blank screen but you can tell the backlight is coming on. From all the research i have conducted it would seem that this is a common problem for this model and that the solution would be to reinstall the BIOS from a usb flash drive. I found the download for the BIOS on Acer's support and driver download page. But now my issue is figuring out which files to put on the flash and how exactly to load them onto the laptop. All instructions i could find online for this process online were for different model Acers and would not seem to work for my situation. I hope that I am on the right track for this fix but realize I might be completely wrong too! Hopefully the community can get where I need to be, any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

First of all you need to make a DOS USB bootable pen:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/boot-dos-from-usb/
Then download the BIOS zip from Acer support website:
Unzip that file and copy to the bootable USB DOS pen, the 3 files inside the "DOS" folder in the BIOS zip file.
With the AC adapter connected, power down your Aspire, insert the USB pen.
Now press both "Fn" and "ESC" keys then press "power button" still pressing the 2 keys; after the Aspire turns on, leave the "power button" but keep pressing the "Fn" + "ESC" keys for around 5 seconds.
The power button will start to blink, let the Aspire flash the BIOS, at the end will auto reboot.
