I would recommend reviewing the documentation for your Sony product here:

I don't know anything about that product or how it would connect to a PC.

Again, we do not support the Sony product, so I have no idea what you are asking with, "Does it support HDMI ?"
Are you asking about the Sony product or about the Aspire 5738PG ?
If you look at the Aspire 5738PG, you should be able to see all of the ports that are offered on it, including HDMI.

My question is:
Does the acer aspire 5738PG transfer from my sony dcr-trv30 video via eeelink 1394/HDMI. My sony has the ilink 1394 and I can transfer video to my PC ACER ASPIRE which has, also, an ilink 1394, not the one we are talking about. What I mean is I have two Acers um PC Aspire and a lap top 5738PG. The PC has the ilink 1394 and I can transfer video from my camera, but this 5738PG does not have that plug. Can I transfer video into my acer 5738PG with a cable ilink1394/HDMI ?

The Aspire 5738PG does not have Firewire (IEEE 1394) port.
The HDMI port does not support 1394. They are completely different ports.
-----
Because the two formats use entirely different technology, there is no way to directly convert one to the other. Because of its extensive use with home entertainment systems, HDMI technology carries a copy protection signal to prevent unauthorized duplication of copyrighted material, making it incompatible with FireWire. There's also a difference in the number of wires in the cables, and HDMI carries a 5-volt signal to power peripheral devices. FireWire has no such voltage.
