Hey guys,
Ive got a Windows8 and even though I managed to turn of hot corners activated via mouse (many applications for that purpose) I cannot - for the love of God - turn it off when using touchpad. Every time I as much as touch right corner of touchpad I get it popped up. Moreover my version of drivers ClickPad V8.1 does not allow to turn of Edge Swipes at all. Pleeease help me, it's been driving me mad for a month now! ;/

The only solution I know to fix this is to uninstall the Synaptics Touchpad driver and use windows default drivers instead. That is what I did. The downside to this is that the sensitivity of the cursor becomes much slower, you can turn it up but then it makes your external mouse way to fast. I rarely use my touchpad though, so this was the best solution for me.

What? This is improbable. How about installing a touchpad driver from other comapany, like ELAN or the one from HP? Will it work that way?

I, like you searched this issue because I didn't like the corners popping up. The solution that many recommended was the same as above. Remove the Synaptics drivers and you should no longer have this happen. Worked for me.
I left out that I had to go to my Start Screen, select Settings, Change PC Settings, PC and Devices, Corners and Edges, under Corner Navigation turn all to OFF.
I tried this with the Synaptics driver installed and still had it happen, then removed them and it worked.

I have V3 772G and Clickpad V8.1 driver, Windows 8.1 (Update 1).
I was able to disable left edge swipe from Clickpad V8.1 settings. However to get rid of the annoying right edge swipe, I had to change registry by hand by setting all four dword values to 0, like this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\Zon
"ActionType"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\Zon
"ActionType"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\Zon
"ActionType"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Synaptics\SynTPEnh\Zon
"ActionType"=dword:00000000
I think I had "TouchPadPS2" instead of "TouchPadPS2_1" in the path, but use whatever is there.
