Over 2 years of owning an Aspire 4820T I have NEVER been able to obtain any updates.
Still no solution from Acer held desk
I found the latest version of Acer updater, unblocked it, ran in windows 7 mode as administrator and .....
yes, you guessed it, NO UPDATES AVAILABLE..............
sheeeeesh
Does any one have a tipo or give me a clue as to how to fix this?
(never have a single problem with my old IBM Lenovo which is 7 years old..... and still working brilliantly)

Those are Acer specific updates. It is entirely possible that there are no needed updates for the system.

Good news, Atos. Everything is working fine. Acer has not released any updates for your rig. You might be thinking of Windows Updates. Go to Control Panel and find Windows Updates and make sure that you are able to receive them.
