Hi,
I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 on Acer Travelmate P243. It is working great except for Touchpad!
While I am typing, the touchpad mouse pointer seems to move suddenly out of focus area in which we are typing. Several times it has became a nuisance - making me unconsciously send incomplete emails because sud ddenly the pointer hovered on Send button and got pressed - and at other times, editing a document becomes a pain as the pointer suddenly keeps moving by its own all around the document.
Any help to fix this problem permanently will be much appreciated. Kindly provide inputs.
Thanks

Hello,
It sounds like the touchpad is being touched while you are typing. If that is not the case I do not have any further suggestions. We have not tested this model with any other operating systems than what we show as available on our support site.
I know in Windows you have the option to disable the touchpad while typing, but I am not sure what options are available in Ubuntu. Maybe the community may have another Linux user that can answer this for you.
