    Hello,

You'll find SSD compatible on the US Crucial website.

    Hi Hunter,

No problem, you can buy the eRecovery media from your Acer store.

    I thank yet again!

Lets me ask you another question. When I recieved my laptop, I made a sys reapir disc / recover tool. I believe it was created with Mircosoft software on the laptop.

Can I use this in replace of the acer recovery CD?

    Thanks,

    Hunter,

    Thanks,

    Ok,

I keep bringing the questions...again thank you!

After reveiwing Cruial, I noticed they do have any SSD in the 350 G range( I dont think anyone does). So can I use this SSD, it is 480G. it would save me 20 dollars, just enough to get the Acer recovery disc if the one i created does not work.

Please give me your opinon on the brand if you could ( I never heard of them). I will go for the Cruial if need be.

    Hello Hunter,

    Sorry for the delay.

In your case, it won't work because it's a mSATA slot and not a SATA slot (mSATA=miniSATA). I know this brand for the Chronos serie (works well).

    Hello Again,

It has been 3 weeks since I last gave time and effort to this project... So, I am jumping back on it!

I have a another question for you, I bought a SS drive locally. Must I format this SSD?  If so, can you run down what needs to be done, please?

I am able to get window screen (via recovery) up it asking for image file and or drivers. I cant find any of which on the disc. If I move around once it gives window to locate files. I do not see the install SSD.

    Thanks,

    Hunter

    Hello,

Do you see the SSD in the bios setup utility (the information or boot tab)?

I am not able to get to bios area. I tried F8 and also delete. The screen I get the DOS screenw/  options of safe mode safe w/ntwrk, etc...

I get a windows loading if left to start on it on. I am then given a windows screen. Then a popup window with option of driver install or image releoad.

Can we maybe work this offline? Let me know if so, and how to interact beyond the forum.

    Thanks,

    Hunter

    Hello,

"I am not able to get to bios area":

When you see the Acer screen, have you pressed [F2] to enter in the bios setup utility?

Ok, press [F10] to save and exit the bios setup utility and reply "y".

Your laptop will restart. When you'll see the Acer screen, press [F12] and follow the instructions of this Acer topic. Be careful, DVDs have a number (example 1/3,2/3 etc).

Don't forget to connect the AC adapter before to do anything.

Ok, I think it is time to buy the recovery disc from Acer at this time. I will go to the spot you gave me link to and drop my Serial number in there and go for it.

Thanks for your all the help Laurent. I wil call on you once the disc arrives and if I need further help.

    Thanks,

    Hunter
