Hello,

My Acer Aspire E1-771 notebook HD Webcam is not working. Or, working sometimes.

Acer Netherlands did a hardware repair (replaced webcam) and the problem remains.

It's the third time now to let repair this notebook.

After the 4th time hardware fault Acer says I get a new notebook !

The problem is with Win 8.1 Camera App, Skype and VLC Media Player capture.

The camera works for about 30secs or about a minute. And then the USB disconnects and reconnect the camera.

Most problems in Skype.

I was now thinking to not let repair my notebook again. The problem can came back.

What do others think of this problem?

Another hardware repair center says it is the display cable or failing motherboard.

Intermittent problems like you are describing can often be caused by software conflicts. Have you tried reloading your system and just using the preinstalled camera app (before installing any other camera software), and see if the problem is still happening? If the problem is still present after a recovery with no other software installed, then you would need to contact Acer Netherlands for service options.
